Traditionally, floor painting adds interest to wooden floors using central motifs and borders. These pictures show how floor painting or staining can be used not only in castles, but also in contemporary homes, to great effect.
The hand tinted varnishes also work well on old stripped pine floorboards. By hand tinting the varnish this ensures that the varnish doesn't just bring out the orangey pine colour, and the overall effect is one of subtle grey or brown hues.
